Man Arrested on Suspicion of Negligently Firing Handgun in Long Beach


A man was arrested on suspicion of negligently discharging a firearm in the California Heights community of Long Beach, authorities said Saturday.

Officers dispatched at about 7:10 p.m. Friday to the 3000 block of California Avenue regarding a “shots” call located the suspect, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

Paramedics at the scene provided medical treatment for the person and transported him to a hospital, where he was medically cleared prior to being booked, according to a police statement.
