  1. When Sonny Bono became major he wouldn't let gay bars or gay businesses into the city. They had to stay outside of city limits. It's really different now

  3. I bartended at the Tool Shed bar once again for Leather Pride weekend, 2025; and I still forgot to eat at the Farm.
    I also forgot to get a slice of pizza from Bill's Pizza.
    I did have delicious Thai food at the Thai House, my California Eggs Benedict at Bongo Johnny's, another delicious breakfast with a friend at the Sunrise Cafe in Cathedral City, and of course some coffee with another friend at Kawfee on Tahquitz.
    I'll try to remember the Farm for 2026.

  5. It’s a nightmare. I just left Palm Springs after living there for 15 years. The city is allowed the Airbnb rentals to take over and it’s just a disaster. These people come trashed the neighborhoods and leave. They’re all drunk and use drugs. I wouldn’t go back if you paid me $1 million.

  7. Damn…I knew there was something I forgot to do—have breakfast at Farm.
    I probably walked past it at one point if it's located at the La Plaza; I did have a good breakfast at both Bongo Jonny's and Billy Reed's.
    I'll have to remember Farm on my next visit, hopefully for next Leather Pride weekend, 2025.

  8. I'll be in Palm Springs next week, 10/23 to 11/2, (bartending at the Toolshed for Leather Pride weekend), and I'll definitely have some breakfast at Farm.

  9. I first visited Black Book on a Sunday for brunch back in 2017—good drinks, good food, good bartender.
    I could see myself bartending there.

  13. We also have a great Pride that happens during the first weekend of November with Pre-Pride events leading up to the main event. They’re really fun to attend and really shows how much community we have, and I’m not saying that because I’m one of the Board of Directors of Palm Springs Pride.

    If you ever get a chance try fisherman's market for fish and chips or fish tacos. Sounds weird being it's in middle of the desert but they bring it from San Diego each day.
