  4. Most days, I have a calorie budget and count every calorie I eat, so I'm very intentional about my occasional "splurges". I had a trip to Izola planned for today that I've been looking forward to for weeks. I happened to watch this video as I unboxed the bread plate and Morrocan olive croissant. It was so fun to be munching on it while you mentioned Izola in this top 10. The bread plate is too much for one person, but it's a great way to get to try three different breads. And the butter they provide is pretty special – not sure why it's so good. I especially like the olive pecan bread. Thank you for celebrating these local culinary stars. I don't need fancy bread, but I'm delighted to be a patron and beneficiary of the hard work, talent, care, and craft of those who are making it.

  6. I can’t stand this city. All they have are Mexican Restaurants; California Mexican Food is garbage. San Diego is the most overrated city in America. California is the most overrated state in America with Florida being Number 2. Yes the Weather is nice, but you’re paying an extremely high cost for it. Even the food he’s consuming is a Rip Off!

  15. New never tried Mom and pop Italian would be cool. They are closing all over so it would be cool to give love to the places still going strong. Litos lemon grove and Marechairo’s second street El Cajon are 2 great spots

  16. You should try Matsu in Oceanside. It’s Japanese cuisine, Michelin Guide style and it’s FANTASTIC

  20. Please visit Rustico’s family owned Italian food in Murrieta. Delicious authentic and best owners! Try their lasagna, mac n cheese, pizza and you will love their bread and green onion oil dipping sauce!

  25. Gareth! Me and my wife have been absolutely loving your channel. Particularly the Mexican food / taco spot videos. We’ve been to many of the ones you have ranked highly.

    I grew up in a family that owned a few Mexican restaurants – I have a decent sense of what to look for.

    We live in North County though – would you be open to reviewing a few places that we, and seems like North County love?

    We have a list but the front runners that we’d put up against the SD best:

    Eribertos – Oceanside
    Los tacos – Carlsbad
    Cotijas – rancho bernardo

    It may be a long shot, but I have to ask 👊🇲🇽
