Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Red Carpet: Elle Fanning & More


Tonight, stars descended on the Sonoran Desert for the Palm Springs Film Festival, running from Jan. 2-11, for the event’s film awards, held at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

Some of the fest’s honorees, as previously announced, include: Miley Cyrus, Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award for her new song “Dream As One” from James Cameron’s in Avatar: Fire and Ash; Timothée Chalamet, Spotlight Actor of the Year Award for his performance in Marty Supreme; If I Had Legs I’d Kick You star Rose Byrne, Breakthrough Performance Award; Song Sung Blue‘s Kate Hudson and Sinners‘ Michael B. Jordan, who are receiving respective Icon Awards; The Testament of Ann Lee star Amanda Seyfried, Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress; Blue Moon star Ethan Hawke, Career Achievement Award; and Jay Kelly actor Adam Sandler, Chairman’s Award.

Also being awarded tonight is Joachim Trier’s Cannes hit Sentimental Value, which will receive the International Star Award — the inaugural time the award will be presented to an ensemble. Meanwhile, in another first, the 2026 Visionary Award will go to Frankenstein director Guillermo del Toro and stars Oscar IsaacJacob Elordi and Mia Goth. Chloé Zhao’s Oscar-buzzy historical fiction drama Hamnet is set to receive the fete’s Vanguard Award.

Leonardo DiCaprio, who is set to receive the Actor counterpart of the Desert Palm Achievement Award for his turn in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, was forced to miss the event due to air restrictions resulting from the U.S. attack on Venezuela.

“Leonardo DiCaprio is unable to join us in person tonight due to unexpected travel disruptions and restricted airspace. While we will miss celebrating with him in person, we are honored to recognize his exceptional work and lasting contributions to cinema. His talent and dedication to the craft continue to inspire, and we are delighted to celebrate him with the Desert Palm Achievement Award this evening,” the festival said in a statement.

This year will also see the return of the festival’s Book to Screen program, hosted in partnership with Deadline.
