DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA — The Riverside County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Bureau released the identity of a motorcyclist who died after crashing into a trash truck this week.
Ruben Delgado, 33, of Desert Hot Springs, was positively identified by next of kin.
Shortly before 2 p.m., Tuesday, Delgado was riding a Yamaha motorcycle, westbound on Dillon Road west of Prospect Road, according to California Highway Patrol Officer David Torres.
“His motorcycle struck the trash truck, which was making a left turn from the eastbound lane,” Torres said.
Delgado was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he was pronounced dead.
There were no immediate reports of any other injuries.
“Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in this crash,” Torres said.
The cause of the collision was under investigation.
