Lakers Make Marcus Smart Announcement Before Pacers Game

On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers will face the Pacers in Indiana.

The Lakers recently suffered a loss to the Detroit Pistons with a score of 113-110 (in Michigan).

Marcus Smart did not participate in that game.

For the upcoming game on Wednesday, it appears the Lakers will be without Smart.

He is currently marked as doubtful on the injury report.

Underdog NBA reported: “Marcus Smart (ankle) listed doubtful for Wednesday.”

Smart is currently in his debut season with Los Angeles.

The former Oklahoma State player averages 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, shooting 39.9% from the field and 33.6% from beyond the arc across 60 games.

Prior to the loss against the Pistons, the Lakers were enjoying a nine-game winning streak.

They are currently ranked third in the Western Conference with a 46-26 record over 72 games.

On the road, the Lakers have secured a 23-14 record in their 37 away games from Crypto.com Arena.

Smart has been a significant asset for the Lakers.

He previously played for the Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, and Memphis Grizzlies over his 12-year career.

In 2022, Smart took home the Defensive Player of The Year Award.

Pacers Before Lakers Come To Town

The Pacers have encountered a challenging season following their run to the 2025 NBA Finals.

Currently, they sit at the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 16-56 record over 72 games.

In their last ten games, the Pacers have recorded just one win against nine losses (and are 10-25 at home).

After the Lakers game, they will remain in Indiana to face Kawhi Leonard and the LA Clippers on Friday.
