Woman in Crosswalk Struck and Killed
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2025) – A fatal Long Beach pedestrian accident happened early Monday at Long Beach Boulevard and Willow Street.
The traffic accident occurred around 6:45 a.m. on Feb. 24th, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The woman was in a marked crosswalk when a driver in a 2005 GMC turned right from westbound Willow Street onto northbound Long Beach Boulevard, police said.
The 61-year-old Long Beach man driving the GMC struck the victim and she became unconscious in the roadway.
Bystanders and arriving police came to her aid and she was transported by firefighters to a hospital where she later died.
Meanwhile, the driver stopped and cooperated with traffic investigators.
