  1. Hi Uncle Coolie
I have just finished watching the whole of your US6 real time videos. My family thinks I am mad. But I have really enjoyed it. They don't understand why I don't fast-forward when you are on a dead straight completely featureless desert road for twenty miles. But I say that would be cheating. More importantly, I wouldn't EXPERIENCE it. The main reason I watch is to learn about America. (I'm British). Yes I can learn about America from movies, but that is fake. America is in the mundane. It's in the small towns. It's in the back roads. It's in a dead straight desert road for twenty miles. It's in your other videos I have watched, your tours of West Virginia, your misty Vermont villages. Etc. I have never been there, except for one blurred memory of stop in Miami when I was about 5 in 1969, with my parents on their way back from south America. But from your videos I feel I know much more, I feel I have almost done the drive myself, I have drunk in the experience, and I am a richer person for it. And I am deeply thankful to you for it.❤❤❤
I'll probably give it a rest for a long time before I watch another one. My family needs me, and I've 'done' the trips I wanted to. But thank you, again, from the bottom of my heart.

  5. Thank you for all your real-time videos! As someone who's used to road trips in Europe (I live in La Rochelle, France), I still miss long US journeys. So, do you know what I do? Well, I close my blinds, decide on one or two days, and I follow you from the start of your trip to the end. I've been following you for years, I've done the real-time east coast, west coast… as well as San Diego to Vancouver. Thank you a thousand times, Uncle Coolie, from a loyal viewer!

  23. Great drive! What if I tell you that I paid $379 in tolls for 2024? If I didn't have PIKEPASS or E-ZPass, I would've pay about $635 in tolls. The reason it's a lot because live many next to E-ZPass states. For reference, I live in Tennessee and the next door E-ZPass states is North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia.

  30. Almost 9 hours for 300 miles? I have to say I am a bit baffled, because when zooming through the video, it looked as if you had some traffic in the second half of the trip, but nothing really bad.
I never was to the USA (Which is why I watch videos like this, to experience it vicariously.), but I heard the whole trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas usually takes maybe 4 hours or so.
