PALM SPRINGS, CA — A vehicle and bicyclist collided early Wednesday prompting a temporary road closure Wednesday on northbound Highway 111/N. Palm Canyon Drive and Tramway Road in Palm Springs. The circumstances of the crash and any injuries have not yet been released as of noon.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m., emergency responders headed to the crash scene at SR-111 and Tramway Road, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
The circumstances of the crash were not immediately available, and the condition of the bicyclist was not immediately known.
The driver, who was not identified, was cooperative with investigators, police said.
“The roadway in the area is currently closed while the investigation is underway,” Capt. Gustavo Ariaza said in a released statement. “At this time, it is unknown how long the closure will remain in place. Once the roadway is reopened, an alert will be sent through Everbridge to notify the public.”
