Hello. I'm a little confused you're in car 5 thats is odd, facing the mountain? I have car 10 going 3 coming back from San Luis Obispo. Will 10 face the water?

FYI, the cars can be switched in either direction so there’s no guarantee that even or odd number rooms will be on the right or left side of the train. Thanks for your videos!

Also a few notes about track ownership. The tracks from Seattle to Portland are BNSF owned tracks and are double tracked. Shouldn’t see much freight delays here. The exception is between Tacoma and just before Olympia which uses tracks owned by Sound Transit (the regional transportation authority for puget sound). These are mainly single tracked but should not see any conflicts because only Amtrak and sounder use these tracks.

Between Portland, OR and Moorpark, CA (not a station stop but on the outer edge of the LA metroplex), it’s Union Pacific. A lot of these tracks are single tracked which means there can be freight conflicts sadly which can lead to delays.

Between moorpark and la Union station the tracks are Metrolink operated which is the LA regions commuter rail network. Not to be confused with LAMTA, Or LA Metro which has their own light rail and hard rail both accessible from LA Union station (LAUS for short).

Amtrak’s on board food is pretty grim, so a good assortment of at least cheese and fruit would be smart. Amtrak riders are good bar customers..

By the way you did say Oakland is the first fresh air stop after Klamath Falls, but you actually missed Sacramento because that is actually the first fresh air stop after Klamath Falls. By the way that dessert you had after lunch on day 2 of the train was a lemon cake, are you sure it wasn’t the butter cake? What I knew is that after lunch they had the option of a butter cake or that brownie for dessert. The lemon cake, cheesecake and chocolate cake was the dessert options after dinner

Amtrak roomettes are a bit tight for two passengers, but for someone traveling solo, it's just fine.

It’s not a seatbelt but harness to prevent you from falling on to the floor if your roll over too much on the top bunk, the 2 straps hook into the celling.

Found the music etremely annoytng, had to provide my own. Sorry. 😟🙁☹

Couldn't watch it all of it. The low voice audio and blasting music and background noise made it difficult to watch/listen to.

Please answer me this why do people always have to show their face when they're making a video about something that's not about themselves

Most Coast Starlight videos are northbound, so I enjoyed, EXCEPT for the loud background music. You are soft-spoken, so if I bring up the volume to hear the narration, the loud music comes on. I am watching this video on my MacBook Pro.

I went on Coast Starlight from Tacoma to Sacramento 2 years ago. In my opinion, it is the 2nd most scenic route on the Amtrak fleet, only behind California Zephyr. I would love to ride this again, all the way from Seattle to Los Angeles.

I went on the Coast Starlight northbound in January and then SEA to CHI, in economy, the Los Angeles route was not running for some reason. It started at Emeryville and went north, passengers coming from LA had to take a bus from San Bernardino to Bakersfield and then take the San Joaquins line and transfer at Sacramento or Martinez.
