Alfred Grenrock 1938-2026
Alfred Grenrock, 88, passed away Tuesday morning, November 3, 2026, at the VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit in Rockledge, Florida. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Lily Grenrock, to whom he was married for 64 years.
Alfred was born April 2, 1938, in Chicago, IL. He is survived by his two children, Donald Grenrock and his wife Leticia of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Irene Slothower and her husband Ken of Satellite Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Hillary Leffler of Ocean City, MD, Janet Cunningham and her husband Jake of Dillsburg, PA, Ryan Grenrock of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Megan Grenrock of San Tan Valley, AZ; one great granddaughter, Alessi Cunningham of Dillsburg, PA; two sisters, Gail Grenrock of Meadow Vista, CA, Helen Fagen of Valley Village, CA, and one brother, Joshua Grenrock and his wife Laura Pavey of North Hollywood, CA.
Alfred retired from the United States Air Force in 1978 after serving over 21 years as a Mechanical Superintendent and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician. He then worked a couple other jobs before continuing his career at the VA Hospital in Long Beach, California until he retired permanently in 2003.
Alfred enjoyed electronics, bowling, and surfing on his computer most of his life. He liked attending exercise classes, playing bingo, and listening to live music and entertainment in his last two years at Zon Assisted Living.
