  1. Whew! Feels good to be out of there 😅 -Tristan

  2. I enjoyed the whirlwind tour of LA. I've been there many times but you showed me places I haven't been to. Thanks for your vid. It was a nice change of pace.

  3. Thanks!

  4. Tristan integrates well into both environments and shows us stuff we never notice in our own towns. How did you get info, plan, book your sites to camp adjacent to the city jungles? You camped nearby cities several times in recent adventures ( Suspension Upgrade Episode, Seat Swivel episode) and this is a Big Deal. With seashore, mountains , deserts not far away in most of America: show us how it is done. You camped places I never heard of that were within minutes North of LA-I have lived here my whole life and was saying: What? All of a sudden that Honda Odyssey looks pretty amazing. One need not drive 300 miles to get to a campsite to enjoy the solitude- but we need you to show us :how. We are Just so needy: but want to learn.

  5. 10:34 fun fact for any Xennials… that's D&D Advertising from the '90s show Melrose Place behind you. I lived a two-minute walk from where you are in that shot then moved to the hills. Love it here.

  6. 🦕 Wow…this museum is quite fascinating. I could pause your video on each skeletal display to full appreciate the details of these amazing creatures. Thank you for this experience.

  7. The other city is still Los Angeles – It's "Century City", but that's just an area/neighborhood name and is still part of the City of Los Angeles.

  8. I enjoyed seeing your delight. /the timelapse at the end was fun… thanks for sharing

  9. Loved the video. I live in Thousand Oaks and couldn't believe when you mentioned you're from here! I also just recently bought an Element! Congrats on the baby!!

  10. At 5:24: that, of course, is a fine example of laundering money.

  11. HollyWeerd

  12. I liken Los Angeles like a chess board, one square is great and unbelievable and the square right next to it is a dystopia.

  13. 23:12 If you want to do stairs and get a good work out go to Universal Studios when you see them you will know it.

  14. First saw the observatory in the Paula Abdul video for 'Rush, Rush'. Now that's a throwback. (Also featured Keanu Reeves 😻 )

  15. IT's FUN to LEAVE LA! Mother Nature will retrieve it soon

  16. We grew up in LA County (Artesia and Pacific Palisades). I lived near Wilshire and Normandie, then I moved near Sunset and Vermont where I met my husband. He lived there 11 years and I lived there 6 years before moving to San Diego County on 10 acres near Escondido. We were glad to get away from the continuous sirens and helicopters in Hollywood due to being near three hospitals. One thing you missed is Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades. Now we live in Escondido and are in our late 70s. We do not even drive into LA anymore due to the traffic and we grew up there but back then it sure wasn't as bad as it is now.

  17. DTLA is not the "downtown" of LA, it's merely one of its neighborhoods. It hasn't be the packed city-center since the 1960's, early 70's. There's a patchwork of arts, nightlife, business districts and neighborhood centers/"downtowns" (Santa Monica, Pasadena, Culver City, Century City, Westwood, etc). …and often just a block off for a bustling, graffiti-ed boulevard are quiet, leafy and charming, almost suburban, hidden neighborhoods.

  18. Hi Tristan, your campsite at the end of this video appeared to be overlooking one of the large earthquake faults in the area. Was it the San Andreas fault or one of the others?

  19. That was way more interesting than I thought it would be, thanks! from Northern Cali

  20. brother if you like oil pits and la county, you should check out toweley canyon hike in placeritca canyon

  21. Century city. Part of Los Angeles
Century fox studios is located there
Also the best lawyers in the world.

  22. Sure, the traffic can be daunting, but well-adapted Angelenos learn the traffic patterns and are usually prepared with several alternate routes. BTW, if you want Armenians, go to Glendale. If you want Filipinos, go to Eagle Rock.

  23. You were so close, but you missed some of the most magical places in L.A. There's the observation deck at the top of city hall, the amazing central library, the central market, and the Bradbury building. All of those are free, and you were withinn a few hundred yards of all of them.

  24. It may be irrelevant to suv'ing these days, but what kind of work or pleasure took you to those international cities?

  25. Tristan, what a coincidence as I watched your video right after finishing watching the 1988 movie "Miracle Mile" which was filmed at and set around the La Brea tar pits and area (the Miracle Mile area of L.A). That tall building by the tar pits figures prominently in the movie and they show the tar pits and have scenes in the movie where you can see what it looked like in the 80's, including the dire wolf skulls and scenes inside the museum. Great movie that has a become a cult movie over the years. Worth watching to anyone reading this. Stars Anthony Edwards and Mare Winningham (who are now married).

  26. If I never set foot in Los Angeles again it would be too soon. The video made it seem almost passably pleasant, but didn’t really capture the 99% of Los Angeles, which is downright unpleasant.

  27. From my back yard as a kid, I was able to watch the Arco Towers being built…

  28. Id like to know where abouts that campsite was?

  29. Born and raised in LA (but haven't lived there since 1989), and an introvert. Los Angeles is SO MUCH MORE than richy-rich, wannabe celebrity culture. I know, I was dirt poor there. There's so much to see (much of it for free), the people are diverse, the weather is perfection, the beaches are gorgeous, need I go on? It hurts me when those who most likely have never been to California, trash the entire state online. Is it perfect, no. But like few places on earth, Los Angeles can be whatever you make it.

  30. 가고싶다 살고싶다 😊

  31. Great video

  32. Where’s that camp? Could use a stopping spot down there.

  33. If this video was produced by any other YouTuber, it would be a skip for me but I will literally watch and enjoy anything Tristan produces. I even recently got into Tenkara and lucky me, my favorite YouTuber has a channel for that too lol.

  34. I also have an Armenian grandmother and grandfather. My grandmother was from the ancient city of Van, Turkey. They came to Los Angeles in 1926. Do you know where in Turkey your grandmother is from?

  35. If you took the Metro system you could’ve seen so much more

  36. I enjoyed the trip around LA….

  37. The impression I have been given of LA is that it is an extremely high crime city and dangerous. I had to drive through it once and I was terrified. And sure enough, there was a shooting on the multilane highway I was on, there were police everywhere. I needed a restroom break badly, but was too afraid to stop anywhere. Never again!

  38. I used to hike those trails when I was going to college in Glendale. I would go over from my place in Silver Lake to Griffith and hike.

  39. you lived in beijing? very nice. i'm heading to china for an extended trip this fall.

  40. when i was a kid, we used to sit in the middle of the road and pop the tar bubbles. that makes me feel ancient but i'm the same age as you are haha. the design of that automotive museum was gorgeous.

  41. Thanks for taking me through memory lane. Haven't been back to some of those areas since I was a kid.

  42. Wow – why in the world did you live in Bangkok and Beijing? On a layover to Hawaii I took a walk in LA and the huge trees made me wish I had more time to spend there. Forget what sp they were, not figs.

  43. Never thought I would enjoy a video about L.A., but you showed me something different and I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing your heritage.

  44. I left SoCal decades ago but you showed areas I never went to. Thanks. PS glad I'm not there anymore

  45. Thanks for the cool vid pal

  46. Why do they have that boulder there.? Significance.??

  47. Awesome footage. I grew up and partied in L.A. I fantasize leaving on Venice Beach. Like you, you couldn't pay me to live there. Lol Thanks for sharing. Next time stop by Tommy's Burgers on Rampart you won't regret it!
