The San Diego area is set for a gradual cooling trend through the middle of this week, according to the National Weather Service on Sunday, with a slight warming expected later in the week.
Coastal highs are projected to remain in the 70s this week, with overnight lows in the 60s. Inland valleys will reach mid-80s for highs, with nighttime temperatures dropping to the low 60s. Mountain highs will range from the upper 70s to low 80s, with lows around 60 degrees. Desert regions will experience highs in the upper 90s and overnight lows in the low 70s.
Most mornings this week will see night and morning coastal low clouds, with some reaching into the western valleys. Expect increased high cloud cover on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the chances of precipitation have diminished, as per the NWS.
“We are keeping an eye on the possibility of widespread precipitation over Labor Day Weekend; however, there is considerable uncertainty regarding the forecast’s evolution,” stated the NWS. “While the National Hurricane Center indicates a 90% chance of this disturbance becoming a tropical cyclone off the coast of Mexico within the next week, it’s still too early to predict any potential local impacts.”
