i will be going on a solo Disney cruise ship Fantasy next year from July 11-july 21sr. i know from these guys to get there a day before embarkation day. Are there hotels near Port Canaveral or is better to stay at Orlando internation airport hotel.
Your older son can do anything he wants at the open house, which are for many hours usually on any cruise. I think edge is much smaller because they utilize the whole ship for scavenger hunts and games. It’s at the age where they don’t want to contain the kids in a room.

❤ Loving this video because we’re looking into doing an Alaskan cruise from our hometown Vancouver. So sorry to hear Amy’s not doing well with the motion. Question, what deck are you on is it two and are you forward or aft? The reason I ask is because I will have bad motion sickness as well and the only rooms that are left are on deck two but I thought it would be too noisy so I didn’t wanna do that and I thought there will be a lot of motion. I really wish adults could go in the kids room and play as well ❤
THANK YOU for the update from Amy on the motion sickness. I've been on dinner cruises in Hawaii, and helicopter rides over the volcano there… and got SO sick. I don't like taking meds because they knock me out the next day, so this is helpful info as I try to get my kiddo to commit to a Disney cruise.
As an elementary school teacher, I wish they gave the option to 11 year olds which room then want to be in. While some would definitely want to be with the older kids, others like your son, want to do the kids stuff still.
My first cruise was here in Sydney and it was truly magical. I’m so glad THE SHIP MADE IT BACK SAFELY!

My favourite cast members who make my day are Dian, Mon, Yutzil, Dee and Harri, also known as the vibe workers. Some even cried with me on the last day. I was on the 6th of January 2025 and on the 3rd of January 2026 to bless the ship and myself and my mates onboard celebrated it with a cake and three cheers for the Wonder, knowing we might not ride it again.
Yay, I actually cried when I saw you guys enter the ship. Just finished my trip to San Diego with my dad. We had a blast. I really have to go on a Disney cruise. Its on my bucket list. But like Amy I am a risk for sea sickness. And will do all the things she does. And do the 3 day to be safe. Also would do the Veranda. So happy you finally got to go.

Another hint: do not show up early for dinner. That way you don't have to wait in line. Show up a few minutes later and just walk on in.
