My mom grew up in Fresno in the 1950s & 60s and growing up, she told me stories of one of her teachers was Armenian, how nice the Armenian families were that my grandmother was a housekeeper for , that the first time my mom and uncle had ice cream, one of my grandmother's employers had given her it. I remember in senior year of high school, I read a couple of George Soroyan 's short stories in my American Lit book. George Soroyan was a native of Fresno and Armenian American.

  11. Serbian here. My best man is Armenian. Armenians settled in Serbia for the first time in the 8th century and used to be church builders. They are very noble people, educated, nice manners, family orientated, loyal to friends and family. I cannot understand why Turks decided to eliminate them?! Armenians almost forgot their own language and spoke only Turkish, totally integrated into Turkish society. Even now through Azerbaijan, as a proxy of the Turkish government, they want to eliminate what's left of the Armenian state and people. It's on going genocide. Serbs had a very similar destiny in the 20th century. Over 2 million casualties in genocide and wars so we understand our Armenian brothers the most.
