My Mom worked at the old LB Municpal Airport for Western Airlines. I loved hanging around there, all the retro building design. The 1950's and 60's were its glory days, seeing different personalities at the airport, and best of all, the wonderful Clouds Restaurant at the top of the terminal. There was some real old days ambiance there, such great memories.
@thomasallen7359
My favorite airport!
@crapbag5966
thank you so much for the video, can you tell if there is any cart available near passenger drop off location I have two checked in bags and was wondering how could I carry three bags at once , I need to enter the ticketing building first right? I am first time traveling
@GFrost88
Fun fact: This is the same airport that was used for the 1985 movie Commando which was dressed for the fictional country Val Verde.
@ntom5579
Flying into LGB soon! Since I've always gone to LAX, it's good to see what I can expect here 😃 🌴
@nstuffcognito
I'm about to fly to las vegas and we are departing from this airport
@laurabenigno5720
Thank you for posting. Our first time flying into Long Beach so this is helpful.
@Rafadachillest
Great video brother 👍🏼 Just started working there and I have no idea what the inside looks like. Good to have a mental image now
@Janiekat
Born and raised in Long Beach California 1951 I flew for Pacific Southwest airlines better known as PSA the airplane with the smile the grinning bird we landed in Long Beach I flew in 1976 to 1979 some of the best days of my life never got caught in the rain by the way
There was one small greasy spoon restaurant add one ticket counter please don't say it's too small please please please please please don't say it's too small do you want to end up with another LAX on your hands parking problems traffic problems angry people please don't say it's too small😊LGB. Rules😊
@Rl082992
I remember having a layover here while flying to PDX and back home on JetBlue. It's a nice airport because you get you walk outdoors ad enjoy the scenery
@alexbr550
Hello I am a rideshare driver in the area, sometimes I get people going from Anaheim to this airport. I was hoping to see in your video where the passenger pick up is for rideshare so I know as a driver…
@jeeamysk498
Very good sharing ❤
@bluekewne
I fly to LGB as much as possible – even with my flight to Tokyo from LAX I'm still flying to LGB the day before haha
@Jeannified
What a great alternative airport!
@tayshow5642
Shhhh going to unsubscribe for u you because of this lol
@BillGreenAZ
I'll never forget the time I left Huntington Beach early (2:30pm) on a Friday afternoon in my truck. Even though I left early it took me 3 hours to get to Victorville on my way to Vegas. Bumper to bumper traffic the whole way. It was the last time I drove to Vegas from the LA area.
I used to love to take JetBlue from LGB to Vegas. It was a quick 1-hour flight over the mountains and down into the Las Vegas valley watching TV all the way. Parking at the airport was a dream.
The only thing I didn't like about LGB was that the baggage claim was outside back then (mid- to late-2000s) and yes, I did arrive when it was raining.
@geniuzg
Didn’t know this existed and I lived in LA all my life lol
@tatjana_autistic
You're the best, Chris! Thank you for making this video and for showing around the Long Beach airport both inside and outside. 🤗🙏It's my favorite.👍😄 It's good that you can wait outside if it's too much to wait inside. If being sensitive to too much noise or having anxiety because of a lot of people, it's perfect to go outside and breathe fresh air before boarding the plane. Do you enjoy visiting the airport even if you don't have travel plans? Maybe just for going to eat something. 🙂😋🍴🧋
@docrob0327
LGB airport is terrible. The parking is a joke. The waits. The lines. Don’t do it!!!
Dude, why are you telling folks about LGB? 😕 send those folks to LAX!! Or Burbank or anywhere else.
@jimmyjames6492
Thanks for the info + video!
@edvaira6891
This looks like it’s even smaller than Burbank…definitely smaller than Ontario or John Wayne (and, seriously?! No jet-bridges?? THAT would definitely be a deal-breaker with my family)
@gs7585
Love flying LBC to Hawaii. ANYTHING to avoid LAX.
@philvie
I fly out of ONT ( Ontario ) airport, can't beat it
@StephenDelaCruz
Thanks for the video. I've never visited LGB and next month will month will be the first time. Arriving from Las Vegas
@jameshiga8077
Hi Chris. Nice tor of LGB. I imagine it to be a much larger airport. So much better than LAX. Thanks for sharing, take care and enjoy the Labor Day Weekend.
@RR-fg2rl
My favorite airport in socal area is palm springs beautiful outdoor also . Flew out of long Beach in the 80s in a sea plane to Catalina landed on water in avalon
@Thomastimelesstrails
Great informative review as always Christopher! Love flying out of Long Beach for my Southwest flights! Easy and probably the least stressful airport. Always love the outdoor area with the sea breeze coming in.
@Traumatix685
It all depends on where you live. If you live below La but still reside in the county vs Orange County, then you go to LGB (SNA or JWA though convenient in Oc can be stressful with the steep ascents for the likely wealthy residents to muffle noise complaints of jets taking off, and there’s the 405 freeway right next to the airport where there already have been some
Landing mishaps because of the freeway being right next to the landing strip).
If you live in Pasadena and of course Burbank east of LA but still next to LA, then Burbank.
If you live farther out east like West Covina/diamond bar/Pomona then you go to ONT.
@NostalgiaMan
LAX was a nightmare. I secretly love LAX though. I never have flown into long beach though
@Brian_L_5168
Thanks for the video. I have picked up family in LGB but never physically visited. What a gem 💎 in LA. They should expand into an international airport just like ONT !
@FreedomFinanceFun
I love flying to Hawaii through LGB
@ethandeeple8643
Flylgb ? Is it a joke ?
@derekevans8294
I've never been. But I've beem to the Burbank Airport. That is a lot better than LAX also
@julieb3432
I live in Long Beach and love our little local airport. Much better than LAX.
@Errordemn6
It's the best airport in Southern California
