  2. I used to LOVE kouign amman pastries. So simple, yet so decadent

  3. OMGosh! All these bakeries look so incredibly delicious!ā¤

  4. Thanks Gareth šŸŽ‰ šŸ˜„
I was watching and wanting to try that wild bread from Izola so bad from the other side of the screen lol. I showed my dad and loved watching his reactions. But I found your video funny enough – looking up cool San Diego spots because me and my boyfriend Jake ( hey, lol your camera man’s name is Jake ) – me and him are going to stay out in SD for my birthday coming up this March šŸ™‚ 🄳 I am turning 24th y’all! Yeehaw. Amen.
If any of these places are close where we stay. I’ll edit this and definitely give a rating of things we end up getting and try. 😊
Safe travels on any of your new and future stops also šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ°šŸ–šŸŒ®

  5. (I'm not subscribing to a guy that eat like … a ……… um)

  6. Thanks Gareth I took your recommendation and I went to IZOLA today, everything was delicious. I’m sticking with you!

  7. 😊

  8. So many annoying ads. That’s why I will never sub. I couldn’t watch until the end. Just sayin.

  9. Fun fact: Penny Jam sandwiches were QEII favorite treat since enjoying them as a child. To this day Penny Jams are served for tea time in honor of the late monarch. šŸ‘øšŸ»

  10. OMGoodness, I am addicted to IZOLA Bakery! How cute is Jeffrey? Hope to catch him next visit. Roasted Sourdough is the perfect vehicle for Lox with cream cheese, pickled red onions, Persian cucumbers and capers. I always get two of each: Tahitian Vanilla and Brown Butter Caramel Knots, they are not shareable. Patisserie Melanie in North Park is notable. I love how some of the pastries are as BIG as your face, so you have to double fist it!

  11. We live in San Diego County which is a little different than living in San Diego. The county consists of many small towns. Typically I avoid ALL big cities including SD , however , I would go into La Jolla to try Wayfarer Bread.

  12. No bread and cie ? Man they would knock everyone out this video 😮

  13. eating pastry without a beverage blasphemy😭

  14. He cracks me up people calling that fruit and the most delicious it’s more like a sugar goo

  15. im limiting myself to about 1000 calories a day for a few weeks as i wanna lose my beer gut, all im eating is canned tuna brocolli an apple banana and a few nuts/seeds, skim milk, watching this is torture to me.

  16. NGL im shocked Azucar isnt on this list.

  17. 14:02 she took the whole pistachio part 🤣🤣🤣

  18. Found this video last Saturday; walked to Izola on Sunday. Oh my, what a find! Chocolate/Almond croissants, the Everything croissant, Browned butter caramel knot (incredibly decadent!); Wild sourdough loaf…we'll be back for more in a few weeks after we recover from gorging on butter and flour and sugar. We'll also try the other places too, but I better find my way to the gym in the meantime. I am a donut fan too, so I'll give Rose's visit as well. Love the videos – great descriptions and enthusiastic reactions, you really convey your love of food with the descriptions of taste, texture, ambiance, and your personal reflections.

  19. IZOLA is the ish! I found them during the pandemic…Jeffery and Jenny are a power couple for sure! During the pandemic they used to lower your order from upstairs to the street in a rope tethered wicker basket. We have introduced countless friends and family to them. We love the sourdoughs, Ugly Bits…essentially, there isn’t anything we don’t love from IZOLA! Happy you got to try them!

  20. Azucar in OB is a good one!

  21. I watched this, placed an online order & on my way to Wayfarer. Thursday 1pm. Home before rush hour. A staycation day from my home in Mt. Helix.šŸ¤—Thank you Gareth!

  22. Wayfarer is excellent. I want to get to Izola. Jeffrey is truly artisan and creative.

I bought his bread knife online. It's great.

  23. Greetings from San Diego, California. God Bless You All. 09/2025ā¤

  24. So you got smog and pollution in the bread. The bread looks like the air if the air had color

  25. Where is Rose's donuts? There seems to be many of them.

  26. Thanks I just went to the Izola bread place its good thank you for recommending. They said alot people come here because of you.

  27. Azucar in OB!!

  28. American Scone is not a scone! Disgusting; heavy, dry rock! A true scone is light , flakey & more like an American breakfast biscuit. They are delicious served with clotted cream & strawberry jam a British authentic scone .

  29. 7:20 can someone tell me why Mr boss from smiling friends is using san diegan air to make bread 😭

  30. Gareth love your videos brother – you gotta check out The French Oven in Scripps Ranch, hands down one of the best bakeries in America, let alone San Diego.

  31. 15:55 someone got some digits šŸ˜

  32. 9:50 that reaction sold me, lemme get whatever one of those are!

  33. 7:23 collecting the yeast from downtown San Diego air… uhm, never thought I’d hear that said out loud in one sentence or would want something containing said yeast šŸ˜…

  34. 6:15 props to these pastry chefs, they look stressed, under pressure and overworked šŸ’›

  35. Can you do this in Inland empire?

  36. Disappointed you did not feature the French Gourmet in La Jolla it is incredible šŸ˜‹

  37. You missed VG’s bakery in Cardiff! Iconic ! Nobody makes cream cheese pastry like them! You know it’s good when there’s a line at 7 AM

  38. Great bakery review, I’m going to visit Izola today to check it out

  39. This is awesome. Izola is now on my short list of places to visit.

  40. I heard you don’t like scones because they are dried. I used to not like them either, but you have to try the ones from Prager Brother’s, they are delicious (not dried at all!).

  41. You popped up on my YouTube so I couldn't pass you up. Looks so delicious! I have to try these places out.

  42. As a local who has lived in the South Bay my entire life….Bonita is pronounched "Buh-Nee-Duh"….and you won't be disrepectful saying it as such. But you've been in the area before…so you good.

  43. 9:56 Who colonized who you failed government school release?

  44. Great video ā¤

  45. You need to go to DZ Akin’s on 70th by a Marie Callender’s- Off the Eigh freeway- It’s to die for- get a brisket sandwich , latkes and whatever sweet pastries you fancy… go with an empty stomach

  46. It is Bibimbap (bee-bim-bop) not bim bim bop. But it all looked really great and well-made.
