I've been going to the SD Zoo for as long as I can remember. I recall when the new polar bear habitat was introduced. It was fantastic. My family continues to be season pass holders.
@EvaExplores-x2x
I immediately knew he was talking about San Diego Zoo based on that title.
@KarlukaKukush
I stopped the video on 00:09. That poor polar bear😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 please don't go to ZOO. It's living hell for animals. And this guys laughing about it. Disgusting
@giuliamor1
Poor, poor polar bear
@biskienator
my junior high school athletic and track area abuts the San Diego Zoo. I remember (this was the 70's) the tour buses would drive by and the driver would almost always say on his speaker headset "on our right is the enclosure of the most dangerous animals in our zoo, as demonstrated by the highest fences (they were) – the North American teenager.
@jolfer1334
Acclimate the fish…..they are food
@mistervacation23
Haben sie jemals den Gorilla gefangen, der aus dem Zoo ausgebrochen ist und Ihnen aufs Auge geschlagen hat?
@savewildlifewhosuffer
🤬🤬🤬🤬 the San Diego zoo has a disgusting history of 🐘cruelty . Their staff tied down Dunda and beat her with Axe handles for 4 days her head was a mess . Bar stewards Oosterhuis that SD vet in court said “ it’s fine “ odd how the SD vets say animal cruelty is fine and global voice for voiceless raking it in millionaire institutes support it all. Oosterhuis said 2 circus 🐘🐘were “fine” to perform both died 2 days later . The 💩 of SD zoo has a far reach the same awful vet kept Edmonton Lucy 🐘in lung damaging conditions for decades .
Oosterhuis was also the only vet in 10 vets who says 🐘Maggie in alaska zoo will die from stress if moved to a sanctuary thankfully other zoos are ethical and Maggie moved because alaska hired 9 vets who were better and ethical. Odd how Edmonton zoo amongst those 10 vets chose the one SD vet who used the same phrase to keep Lucy suffering. Odd how a top conservationists head man is SD zoo – odd how millions of dollars in donations go to all these high salaries while genuine conservation don’t take high salaries and build sanctuaries save thousands of wild animals and don’t lie.
@Incorruptus-Sculptor
IN an ideal world blah blah. Come on now, this is the World they live in there is no world out there they live in. And ideal, is for them to be in the wild. So whatever is said about this it is sad af. I can understand breeding programs needed. But to simply have them to hold them to show them of to public is completely silly. It should not be. I know they all love these animals as their own. But it should not be. Sometimes you need that extra bit of love to be able to just hand them freedom. This is with humans and relationships just the same.
@cotesport358
Amazing show with polar bear thank you 👍 i subscribe to your channel today
@ewuf
best zoo cuz they do such amazing conservation work. i loved this
@breeze8557
Getting a fish acclimated just so you can feed it to a polar bear as diabolical
@antoniatomlinson2146
At first glance, zoos may seem like places of education and conservation – but in reality, a very different picture emerges, especially from the animals' perspective.
"Conservation begins in the wild – not behind glass." Because: Only freedom is truly humane.
According to the IUCN, only about 5 to 10% of animal species kept in zoos are actually endangered. Most are not at risk of extinction but are easy to keep and popular with visitors – chosen for entertainment, not protection.
The promise of reintroduction to the wild also doesn’t hold up. According to the Born Free Foundation, less than 1% of zoo animals are ever released back into nature. The Captive Animals Protection Society estimates that only 1 in 10,000 has a realistic chance of being rewilded. The few success stories usually come from specialized conservation NGOs – not traditional zoos.
Many animals in captivity develop serious behavioral disorders, such as pacing in circles or repetitive head movements – clear signs of stress and sensory deprivation, which don’t occur in the wild. The lack of space is also extreme: a tiger in the wild may roam over 100 km², while in a zoo it’s often confined to just a few hundred square meters.
Captive breeding is rarely about species survival. More often, it serves to keep enclosures populated for visitors. Surplus animals are sometimes killed or sold – like the well-known case of "Marius”, the young giraffe who was euthanized and fed to lions in front of an audience at Copenhagen Zoo in 2014, despite being healthy.
The educational value of zoos is often overstated. A study by Falk et al. (2007) showed that 87% of zoo visitors demonstrated no lasting change in environmental awareness. Children especially are given a misleading image: animals as passive displays, not as intelligent, social, freedom-loving beings in complex ecosystems.
Real conservation happens in the wild, not in enclosures! Zoos may appear harmless, but they are an outdated model. Modern education, wildlife protection, and empathy do not require cages. #Missionerde
@672momo
Fuck Zoos! Why do animals have to live in captivity?!
@benmcreynolds8581
After doing this video, you should definitely do a part 2 where you visit one more place similar to this. It's one of the most amazing animal facilities in India. It is funded & built by a billionaire & no joke it's one of the most amazing things I've ever seen a billionaire create & support. If I was super rich it's exactly what I would do if I had that kind of opportunity
@DarthVader-c8f
I live in San Diego so it’s interesting to see videos of our zoo
