As a trans-Atlantic liner, the Queen Mary was beloved by Americans nearly as much as she was by the British, so it's not inappropriate that she be preserved (very well, it seems) in America. I have never seen her in person, but I have personally viewed Pier 54 in New York City, which is the old Cunard-White Star pier. The same pier where the Titanic would have moored had she arrived. When I was there, a large ship of Norwegian Cruise Lines was moored there.
