Toreros Wrap Up Busy Weekend in Southern California


RIVERSIDE/SAN DIEGO — As the second half of their season begins, the San Diego women’s swimming and diving team competed this weekend in a series of split team meets. USD’s divers participated in three days of events at the Lancer Diving Invite, while the Toreros also hosted a dual meet against Colorado State and San Diego State at the USD Sports Center Pool on Saturday afternoon.

Highlighting the performances for San Diego was Anna Vermulen, who achieved an impressive second place in the 1,000 yard freestyle during her first home meet of the season, also securing a fifth-place finish in the 500 yard freestyle.

On the diving front, the Toreros saw Morgan Divita achieve a sixth place with a score of 216.70 in the three-meter dive. Morgan Divita

San Diego will be back in competitive action in less than a week, facing Pepperdine in a dual meet on Friday, January 17 at 10:00 a.m. from the USD Sports Center Pool. Admission to all home USD swim meets is free.
