It’s the final weekend of the high school football in California, and it will be capped with 15 teams being crowned CIF State champions.
The marquee matchup of the weekend will take place Saturday night when Mater Dei and De La Salle play in the CIF State Open Division final in a battle of unbeatens at Saddleback College at 8 p.m.
Until then, 14 other CIF State finals will be played on Friday and Saturday at three different locations. Below is a live scoreboard of all the scores from the weekend’s state championships.
FRIDAY
DIVISION 1-AA: Lincoln 28, Pittsburg 26: Oregon-bound Akili Smith Jr. through for 171 yards and three toudhdowns and rushed for a 7-yard TD in the fourth quarter to live the Hornets to their second state title in three years despite four touchdowns from Pittsburg’s Jamar Searcy. (LIVE UPDATES)

DIVISION 2-AA: Sacramento Grant 35, Oxnard Pacifica 28: Pacifica’s Alijah Royster had four touchdowns in the Triton’s comeback effort that fell just short when Grant Koby Shabazz broke a 28-28 tie with an 18-yard TD catch with 22 seconds left.

DIVISION 3-AA: Frontier 18, Amador Valley 14: Bakersfield Frontier wins first-ever CIF State title behind a stellar defense that recorded seven sacks.
DIVISION 4-AA: St. Vincent de Paul 25, Highland 23: The Mustangs become the first two-time state champions in Sonoma County history, according to The Press Democrat. Gabe Casanovas ran for 162 yards on 19 carries for St. Vincent while adding 106 yards passing and two TDs. Running back Mason Caturegli added 21 carries for 136 yards and two TDs (one receiving).
DIVISION 5-AA: Carmel 48, El Capitan 7: Carmel finishes the season 15-0. Ashton Rees rushed for 208 yards and scored five touchdowns.
DIVISION 7-AA: Moreau Catholic 42, Lindsay 8: Moreau Catholic wins first-ever CIF State crown. Jalen Arnold started the scoring with an 81-yard punt return for score and Peyton Collins added an 80-yard pick 6 to go along with a 25-yard TD run as the Mariners rolled to the title at Fullerton High School.

SATURDAY
OPEN: Mater Dei 37, De La Salle 15: Monarchs win back-to-back Open Division titles and finish the season 13-0. It’s been eight straight years since the Southern California team has won the Open final.
DIVISION 1-A: Huntington Beach Edison 21, Fresno Central 14: Star running back Julius Gillick runs for 124 yards for Edison, making the 12th time this season he’s ran for more than 100 yards in a game. Jake Minter scores late to win state crown.

DIVISION 2-A: Palos Verdes 55, Twelve Bridges 19: Sophomore QB Ryan Rakowski throws six passing touchdowns to lead the Sea Kings to their first CIF State title in program history.
DIVISION 3-A: Fairfield Vanden 42, Rio Hondo Prep 41 (OT): Vanden’s Kalani Mcleod passed for 370 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead TD toss to Keitaro Davis. RHP’s Noah Penunuri ran for 221 yards and four touchdowns. Vanden stopped RHP’s 2-point version attempt in OT to win.

DIVISION 4-A: Sonora 52, St. Pius 34: Sonora wins first CIF State title behind a dominant running game that tallied 362 yards on 59 carries as a team — and only attempted four passes.
DIVISION 5-A: American Canyon 68, Palmdale 47: This 115 total points sets a new CIF State record for points in a final in the modern era (2006-present), besting the 105 points scored in the 2014 CIF State Open final when De La Salle defeated Corona Centennial 63-42.
DIVISION 6-A: Summerville 38, Monte Vista 21: Summerville wins first CIF State title.
DIVISION 6-AA: Arcata 27, vs. Portola 21 (OT): Arcata wins in dramatic overtime thriller to lift the program’s first-ever CIF State title.
DIVISION 7-A: Balboa 55, Whittier Pioneer 27: Balboa running back Joseph Smith scored three rushing touchdowns in the first half en route to a 41-0 start. Smith finished with four TDs.
