RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. – There’s still an opportunity for you!
Although there wasn’t a winner for Saturday night’s Powerball jackpot, one ticket holder in Southern California came close to clinching the grand prize and is walking away with a substantial amount of money.
As per the drawing information from the California Lottery, a single ticket matched five numbers.
The fortunate ticket, valued at $243,664, was sold at a Chevron gas station situated at 25361 Railroad Canyon Road in Lake Elsinore.
The numbers drawn on Saturday were 7, 16, 19, 45, 64, with the Powerball being 25.
The jackpot for the drawing on Monday night is expected to reach $456 million.
SUGGESTED:
The likelihood of winning a Powerball drawing is 1 in 292 million.
Your odds are so slim that an individual is considerably more likely to experience a lightning strike in their lifetime than to win a Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot, even if they participated in every drawing for both games over 80 years. Nevertheless, with a vast number of people investing in a shot at life-altering riches, someone eventually claims the prize.
Under the annuity option, winners will receive an upfront payment followed by 29 annual installments that increase by 5% each year until culminating in the total of $1.5 billion.
Powerball is available in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
