Authorities reported on Tuesday that a hidden camera was discovered in the front yard of a home in Arcadia.
The camera was located at approximately 8 a.m. on Tuesday, lying on the ground among the bushes on Highland Oaks Drive near Virginia Avenue, according to the Arcadia Police Department.
“The camera seemed to have been set up to observe other residences in the vicinity, but it had since fallen to the ground,” the police department noted.
In recent months, several hidden cameras have been uncovered throughout Southern California.
In July, another resident in Arcadia discovered a camera along with equipment hidden in the bushes.
A separate device was found outside a home in Alhambra, where an attempted burglary had been reported in June.
Authorities caution that criminals may utilize disguised cameras to collect information about their neighbors, including the daily routines of homeowners, as they plan their burglaries.
Police advise residents to implement a home security system and ensure that your property is well-lit during the night.
