  1. Nice video! I miss my ship. Quick note: the propeller turned at roughly 172 RPM at top speed, or 3 times per second. Not bad for 32 tons of bronze!

  3. She's a gorgeous ship. I visited her briefly two times while I was working on board the Carnival ship that docked near the Queen.

  10. You know, on the outside, the ship is not looking so bad. At least not anymore. The interiors are another story but I would say, at some point they show make a concrete base around the ship instead of a drydock now that she's classified as a building. Sort of like the SS Duke of Lancaster or Britian's last battleship. (I forgot the name of that ship.)

  12. That guy around 36 minutes talking about the Titanic coal fire is all wrong. There was a coal fire, but coal fires were extremely common on coal fueled ships prior to the introduction of diesel. Also, Titanic’s coal fire was no secret, you can read testimony from surviving stokers about the effort to put out the fire – it was eventually put out on the morning of the 14th of April.
Also, the picture he mentions that was uncovered in 2017 does indeed show discoloration but it was an optical illusion – the discoloration is visible on the area close to where Titanic’s mail room was, well above the waterline. The coal bunker where the fire was located was further aft of this and below the waterline.

And another thing – Titanic was not built for speed and Captain Smith was not attempting to break a speed record, White Star Line ships were built for comfort and luxury whereas Cunard ships were built for speed. She wasn’t even running on full power when she hit the iceberg.

Sadly yesterday I heard horrible news about her, because of this Coronavirus, my mother and I have been to the ship twice and we have many friends who work on the ship, they said that she has been shut down till further notice and all of the employees have lost their jobs… stay safe lonely Queen Mary, and others like you too.

  17. Not even joking at 24:00 in that turning gear room. when I entered I felt like the group of people behind me disappeared. Then I felt a shiver up my spine as I sensed a presence in front of me, but I couldn’t see it.
