LONG BEACH, CA — The Long Beach Police Department arrested one driver and cited five more people during a driving under the influence checkpoint Friday, officers announced.
One driver was arrested for DUI, while an additional five drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed, police said.
“The primary purpose of DUI/CDL checkpoints are to promote public safety, increase awareness of the dangers associated with drinking and driving, and deter impaired and unlicensed/suspended drivers,” police said.
